VPEC 2021 is now accepting speaker submissions from potential speakers who can share innovative strategies for preventing violence and connecting people with the necessary tools to navigate the world from a safe and empowered place.

An educational system that focuses on recognizing and responding to violence the moment it starts

We are looking for speakers from all walks of life, including social workers, trauma experts, psychologists, researchers, heads of civil society organizations and NGOs, therapists, empowerment self-defense (ESD) practitioners, government workers, criminologists, and educators to speak on topics related to primary prevention.

* Please submit your proposal by May 30, 2021.*

Proposals will be reviewed upon submission and speakers will be notified by June 15, 2021.

Please Note: 


Your health and safety are important to us. We are taking proper COVID-19 precautions, following protocols that include, but are not limited to, social distancing, wider aisles, and mask-wearing. While we hope to see you in person, the conference may shift to a hybrid format with virtual options depending on COVID-19 updates and restrictions.

  • Speakers will receive a full conference pass with free access to sessions and lunches. 

  • Speakers are responsible for their flight and accommodation expenses.

  • Speakers are kindly asked to be flexible and be prepared to speak both in person or virtually.

The conference will be held in English.
